Rules

All entries will be judged according to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines by a panel of judges and grouped into the following categories:

Judges decision is final. Champion Beer of Show, Best Novice, and 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters in each category will be based on the highest sum total points from the three judges. In the event of a tie, the award will be decided on the basis of best impression. Best Novice category is only open for Victorian brewers who have not previously placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Vicbrew sanctioned competition. Champion Brewer will be awarded to the highest sum total for points awarded in each category: 1st Placing: 3 points, 2nd Placing: 2 points, 3rd Placing: 1 point.

Results for Oktoberfest 2025 will be announced by 5pm Sunday 12th October via social media (to be advised).

Scoring sheets will be available for download via this website after the results are announced. Winners of prizes will be contacted and those prizes to be collected by mutual agreement.

Entry Acceptance Rules

Number of Bottles Required Per Entry: 1

Cost is $10 per entry (**500ml or greater, either bottle or can **), with a limit of two entries per category and one per style. Categories and style groupings can be found in the competition rules and on the Bayside Brewers Oktoberfest page.

Payment must be received by the cutoff date or entry will not be accepted.

Each entry will consist of a single capped bottle or can that is void of all identifying information.

750 ml brown glass bottles are preferred; however, green and clear glass will be accepted. Swing top bottles will likewise be accepted as well as PET bottles, as long as they meet the volume requirements. Cans of 500ml volume or greater will also be accepted.

Bottles will not be returned to contest entrants.

All requisite paperwork must be submitted with each entry and can be printed directly from this website. Entry paperwork should be attached to bottles by the method specified on the bottle label.
